so i got a new battery from the dell website (the correct one) and its still doing the same thing my non OEM battery was doing, its holding a charge when plugged in but not charging. when its unplugged it just loses charge. its obviously some sort of software issue with the battery. please help. btw it says its holding a charge for 2000+ hours at 33%

    Hello and welcome to NBR.
It might be the charger that's causing you issues. Dell chargers have an integrated ID chip and require a handshake with the laptop's motherboard in order to work properly.
If that chip dies or the connection between it and the motherboard is lost, the battery won't charge.

I advice to try out another DELL adapter and see what you get.
