    Hello,
i have the Dell XPS M1330 Laptop(A15 Bios) and i want to upgrade the ram.Now i have 4 gb ram and i want to upgrade to 8.
This set of 8gb ram is compatible with my laptop http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vs8gsdskit800d2 ?
The corsair memory finder tool must be wrong because it says that this laptop supports up to 4 gb,but the manual that came with the laptop reports up to 8.

    Thanks

Support for 8GB in XPS M1330 was added later with a BIOS update. I think the corsair memory finder tool was not updated. I'm not sure if that set is 100% compatible, though.

    Oh, holy ****

Dude, do not bother upgrading your Dell XPS M1330. Especially not with $260+ for a memory upgrade. You are much better off saving for a new laptop.

It's not worth putting any money into your laptop. The problem is that the laptop is several years old. Whatever money you put into upgrading that laptop will be thrown away, whenever some part eventually fails on that laptop.

If you want to, and can afford doing it...GO FOR IT. I have an acer 7720 17" notebook that I upgraeded, and still use. Besides gaming....I use it for most anything I want computing. It has a nice 17" screen, comfortable keyboard, and just a tank. I modded it because I WANTED to, Not because, I could have used that money to buy a new computer ETC. I also upgraded my old Macbook from 2007. I added 8gb ram, an ssd, and mounted Linux mint instead of the crappy MacOS. Thanks to Linux, my macbook is a completely useable device again. I also have older devices like phones I like beathing new life into as well.
