Hey guys I just recently bought a new external monitor/TV to watch movies on but my HDMI isnt working... The screen keeps going to "power saving mode" (its a dell monitor by the way)

Thing is it USED to show image but no sound (only from the laptop speakers). I read on the forums that you had to change sound properties and that still didnt work. It didn't bother me that much as I just hooked my speakers upto my laptop.

NOW, there's no image at all!! I've tried a few means to try get this to work. (Fn + F8, video properties etc). Thing is, in the Nvidia control panel the Monitor is indeed detected and the laptop does recognise there is something connected but there is no image or sound.

Can anyone help me out? I'm a bit helpless now. I've only used the HDMI port maybe 3 times tops to watch a few movies. Upon physical inspection of the port with a magnifying glass and torch, no pins seem to be bent.

    Thanks in advance.

change the resolution of the output?

wats your TV? 720p or 1080i or 1080p?

once you switch the default to HDMI Sound, u might need to close the program and reopen it for windows to redirect the sound output
