I just purchased a DELL XPS m1530 Certified Refurbished System. I just wanted to know that are certified refurbished systems ok? Is my decision ok or not?

    Thanks,
    Sultan

I received my certified refurb M1530 two days ago, and its great. It is basically in perfectly new condition, don't worry about anything. Mine even came with LG display. :)

You should be happy with your new system. If not, the Dell warranty will cover it, so no worries.

I'm waiting for a refurbished m1330, currently lost somewhere in Ohia (thank you, DHL....)

Being you have 21 days to check out your laptop, and if unsatisfied, Dell will even pay for return shipping, I don't think there's much to lose.

From what I've heard, the refurnished laptops are a great way to save big money, and still get an excellent machine!

    congrats

I'd suggest getting an extended warranty though, just to be safe. But yes, excellent quality.

My son has had his 1530 since last Friday. Even though Dell indicates it might have some finish blemishes etc., his blue one looks perfect. It also appears that the refurbished ones have less bloatware. He also ended up with an LG screen. We ended up saving about $800 over new or $500 over a new and a good coupon deal.

    Hello Guys

I just ordered a refurbed M1530 here in Dublin, Ireland.

How can I tell what screen I have? It has been mentioned that LG screens are better? What are the other options and how will I be able to tell.

Also for those that have their systems already, is the fan at the bottom and does it get very hot?

    How is the game performance?

    Thanks,
    Gian

It'll probably say in 'Device Manager'/hardware profiles which one you have, the other supplier to Dell for screens is Samsung.

dunno about the fan, game performance should be good for current games as long as the GPU is the 8600m GT, cant remmeber what the other options were.

I just ordered one as well. The addon bluetooth that I bought just made it in, (ordered on Sunday), but due to the fact that DHL doesn't deliver on Saturday, I'm stuck waiting for the laptop until Monday.

Argh. But still, much better wait times than if you bought it new. I'm excited! I paid only $850 for a decent system (2.4 GHZ core 2 duo, 2 GB RAM (which I promptly plan on upgrading), the 8600M, bluetooth (was an extra $20), and etc.

I'm hoping for an LG screen, but I doubt it.

I know that there are several sources available online for Dell coupons which can be used to purchase certain new Dell computers but are there any coupon deals available online if a buyer like myself is interested in purchashing a certified factory refurbished computer from Dell's Factory Outlet Store?

I went through the motions not too long ago at Dell's factory outlet website just like I was going to go ahead and purchase a factory certified refurbished Inspiron 1520 laptop and near the end of the check out process I was asked to enter any Dell promotional coupon code that I might have and since I didn't have one I canceled the transaction.

I did a Google search for "Coupon codes for factory certified Dell laptops" and I was directed here. After reading that link info I decided to come here and post because any extra dollar amount I can save on purchasing a computer would certainly help.

They do have them floating around. I used a 15% off coupon when I bought an M1330 from the Outlet. Ends up being a great deal. You can check out the Dell Outlet twitter or look in the coupons thread.
