    Hi,
i purchased a battery for dell xps m1530 which is supposed to be a 9-cell battery. The part number on the battery is pu-556. On different websites it says the battery is both compatible to xps m1330 and xps m1530. When i am trying to fit the battery in to my xps m1530. Its not fitting in, there is a huge difference in connector spacing. What should i do now? I purchased the battery from singapore now i am in a different country. Secondly, would previous dell xps battery fit in the new m1530? like m1210 or the other laptops?
    Regards,
    Sultan

Thhe 1330 and 1530 9 cell batteries are different. PU 556 is for the 1330 only.

The part you need is the GP-975

And no, no battery from another XPS would fit into a 1530.

The 9-cell battery I bought for my XPS m1530 looks like a 1330 battery with a small attachment to make it look longer.. and that attachment is very loose.. so when i use it on my legs... the tiny addition is wobbly..

you could sell it on Ebay as a "m1330 9cell battery" and get the original 9cell battery for the m1530 from dell, i have it and it shouldn't wobble at all, maybe you bought it from a different manufacturer, cheaper than dell's, but not always as good...

my battery is from dell, both the battery and laptop are new.. it arrived earlier this week.. after taking another look at the battery, it appears as though it was defective and cracked..
