Yours seems like the best deal, mattocs!

Will the July 4th sale offer a better deal?

Are we sure there will be a decent one then?

They seem to randomly put out good deals. Check daily and be ready to order.

You are completely sold on the XPS m1530. I thought that was only reserved for mac owners with their devotion to their macs.

Ya, it's really not the greatest deal. I got similar specs with 2 year warranty and 2 year accident + lojack for $1380 shipped. Although even mine wasn't the greatest deal either.

    SUCKS.... dont pull for it

instead, for dell epp, go and config a 'stock' m1530 (that is go to dell.com/epp

    laptops->XPS->M1530->BEST..... its $1380 for T8300, 8600, 4GB, 3yrwarranty+acidental damage

dell's 'deals' are just crappy configs.....

It doesn't come with any of those things. That route you described gets this:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7250 (2MB cache/2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB)

Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch LCD (1280x800) & 2.0 MP Camera

3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)

Once you upgrade all those components to something reasonable, you're back up to $2000.

orly?>.... i checked last week and it was T8300 with 4GB n High Resolution for $1380..... maybe they changed it :(

EDIT: the attachment was for the 'best' -stock M1530 that i configured in April and saved.... without the $500 Blu-Ray, it costed $1400....... and i am certain that the 'best'-stock m1530 had these specs in may and early june because i keep checking...

[intel card is a $20 upgrade, 9-cell is a $90 upgrade, so my attachment would be a comparable deal, but with accidental damage ]

oh well, i guess u dont get this deal

Hmm I guess the Dell deals aren't "crappy configs"...I got everything you did, paid $150 less than you and also got:
    15.4" LED
    2.5 gHz
    Intel Wireless N
    9-cell

My XPS M1530 was from a Dell 10 Days of Deals thing that was going on back in early June and it's an excellent configuration. The only thing it lacks that I wanted was the 7200RPM HDD, but to be honest the 5400RPM HDD doesn't really seem any slower than the 7200RPM in my desktop.
