I am having a problem with my Dell M1330. It does not power on with or without the battery or adapter connected. I have tried resetting the system by removing the power adapter, battery, memory cards and the hard drive with no success. I tried to reset the BIOS by unplugging the CMOS battery in hopes that the BIOS would recognize the hard drive with no success. I then tried removing each individual part in order to rule out the mother board. Once I removed the hard drive from the system it powered on.

I was able to access the setup and boot menu from the Dell start up screen. From the start up screen it went to a black screen with “internal hard disk not found”, “To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.” And “No bootable devices- -strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility, Press F5 to run onboard diagnostic.” Pressing F1 started the process over. Pressing F2 led to the BIOS start up screen. Pressing F5 led to a diagnostic tool that gave me error message 2000-0141. All of the other devices passed the test.

I then removed the power adapter and battery. I reseated the hard drive and replaced the battery and plugged in the adapter. I pressed the power button and had no success. Is there anything else that I can do besides replacing the mother board?
