Just upgraded from Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64bit to uttilize the 4 gb I have.
Have installed nVidia drivers, flash and anti-virus.
Wondering if I have forgotten anything?

Check your device manager and see if you've got any of those ugly yellow question marks? (Or whatever the Win7 equivalent is)

    I intalled few more drivers:
    - audio drivers (for 5.1 channel output)
    - Logitech driver for the LCD panel
    - Creative driver for webcam
    - touchpad drivers for scrolling
    - wireless driver (I have Broadcom card, the initial driver was awful and created lots of DPC latency issues)
    - card reader drivers (it didn't work without them)
    - bluetooth driver (same as card reader)
    That's all. :)

    Thank you Commander Wolf.
Had a couple of yellow question marks.

TimeWriter, can all these drivers be downloaded from the dell support site?
Would appreciate if you possibly had any links seeing that my knowledge of getting ahold of a correct driver is almost as probable as me winning against Usain Bolt in a 100 Meter dash.

I would love to upgarde to windows 7 on my M1730 but the only thing that puts me off is ive read on here in the past that if you get a problem with your system then Dell will tell you to re-install Vista to try and cure the problem.

I couldn`t be going through that hassle to be honest.

    Well, not all.
    - audio drivers (for 5.1 channel output) > Dell website (from the XPS m1530 model)
    - Logitech driver for the LCD panel > Logitech website (try the latest for the G15 keyboard)
    - Creative driver for webcam > Dell website
    - touchpad drivers for scrolling > Dell website
    - wireless driver (I have Broadcom card, the initial driver was awful and created lots of DPC latency issues) > can be found here: http://rapidshare.com/files/235600486/Broadcom_Wireless_Card_Driver.rar
    - card reader and bluetooth drivers > Dell website

You can use the vista 64 bit drivers, that is not hear say but a fact, and for programs that dont have 64 bit drivers you can install the 32 bit ones like dell quickset

By the way win 7 is not like Vista, it is great at finding generic drivers which means you may not have the triangle with the exclamation on it but still be in need of the actual driver, just try and load as many of them as you can that you feel you need and you'll be alright
