Hello everyone. I'm thinking about buying the XPS 15 SB for college and I'd like to know how is the battery life on this thing? If you have have any records of how much life you are able to get, I'd greatly appreciate it. Please include which battery you have (6-cell or 9-cell) and the brightness level....

    Thank You

I get 2hrs with a game opened(hon) and music playing, 70% brightness. Easily 4hrs with max power saving and non intensive works, that's with a 6cell. You're looking at 6hrs+ with 9cells.

I get 6-7hrs with 9 cell, min brightness, power saver profile, Dell extended battery life on, windows sidebar off, wifi on, browsing web :)

Right now I have 6hr 31min left with 99% charge

Depends on the battery. I've got the 6 cell. I get anywhere from 4 hours to 1 hour depending on what I'm doing. I've got the i7 too. 4 hours is rocking pretty hard for a machine with this much power. The L502x is a great machine. I've had zero problems with mine so far. Kinda bulky but not too much. It's a good buy too if you shop and get the right options, find all the coupons you can and go for the best deal. Oh one last thing; get the 1080 display! It costs like a hundred bucks more but is worth every nickel. There are a lot of threads here about battery life, tweaks, reviews (both good and bad) of this laptop. Try to read all you can before you make a decision. The search function is your bud.
