    Hi all,

One day I ejected my SanDisk MicroSD adpater from the memory card reader and a small piece broke off from inside the reader. I tipped the laptop up and the piece fell out.

Now, whenever I insert an SD card through the adapter into the slot, the adapter fails to 'click' into place as it should. Occasionally it will click it but more often than not it won't 'latch' into place.

Further to this, the card doesn't read and Window's doesn't acknowledge the new device.

The picture shows the piece that came out and with the card reader being part of the system board I really need to get it fixed!

I love this laptop and wouldn't want to ditch it.

Also, is there any way at all to get a backlit UK keyboard? Preferably the L502x style (spaces between keys).

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt.

I think you are probably hosed on this front given that the card reader is part of the motherboard... you could try to buy a broken l501x motherboard and try to get the piece out of that card reader, but even then it might be near impossible to remove/replace, and you have to consider that the card reader itself may have different ODMs.

I was fearing that would be the response. It looks like it would just clip back on though? I appreciate its snapped on side. Any idea what its function is?
