I'd like to know which good cases there are. I want to buy a very nice expensive case for it (i'm in India travelling right now) but the Dell leather sleeve isnt sold in India, and i'm not sure what else to look for.

I'd like to get a case/sleeve designed for the 9530 myself.

I see Dell have an XPS 15 leather sleeve for the previous model. Anyone tried this with the newer model?

I'm also with you. I'm considering whether the Ethernet dongle should be USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. The option that Dell provides is USB 2.0. I wonder whether this is for compatibility concerns whether USB 3.0 is not supported, such as WIN7 PE?

That one looks OK but the only thing that would bother me is that it states it fits up to 16.4" models. With the XPS 15 being quite slim to begin with, I'd hate for it to move around inside the case.

I've gone for this Brenthaven sleeve for the MBP and I'll get it next week. I researched dimensions, and it looks like it's going to be a perfect fit.

Fits like a glove. Slots in nicely and closes with ease. This sleeve is ideal for me too as it's perfect for use around the house, but still fits into my laptop bag when travelling.

After having reviewing the dimensions (I'll list them below), it would be safe to assume the majority of Mac Book Pro w/ Retina (15") cases are compatible with the 9530.

    XPS 15
    Height: 0.3"-0.7" (8 -18mm)
    Width: 14.6" (372mm)
    Depth 10" (254mm)
    Starting at 4.44lbs (2.01kg)

    MBP 15 w/ R
    Height: 1.8 cm (0.71 inches)
    Width: 35.89 cm (14.13 inches)
    Depth: 24.71 cm (9.73 inches)
    Weight: 2.02 kg (4.46 pounds)

    Hope this helps someone.

Oh my gosh! I ordered that one in gray as well! What a coincidence. I actually love Brenthaven's products (with quality and style in mind) -- especially the Collins collection. I have the Collins backpack and messenger in gray. It's awesome stuff and it works awesome for my XPS 15. In my opinion, Dell's leather sleeve is overpriced for what it is even with my $15 off coupon, and I can almost assure Brenthaven's sleeve will outdo it (especially with their lifetime warranty). Mine comes in later on this afternoon!

I received my Brenthaven Collins sleeve, and unfortunately I will be taking it back. I'm very picky about zippers being close to the laptop -- The zippers touch my XPS 15 while putting it in the sleeve and although the laptop's quality is great, I'd rather not risk getting any scratches. It's such a shame because the whole entire Collins series of products from Brenthaven look amazing (favorite, really).

Does anyone know if magnets can ruin the device? There's this sleeve on Amazon (made for rMBP but is for 15") that looks really nice but it's held by magnetic strap. Will that interfere with anything? I'm actually trying to find any sleeve with the same design -- a flap to close the sleeve instead of a zipper.

Here's the one I'm looking at now:

Amazon.com: Snugg Macbook Pro Retina 15-inch Leather Sleeve Case in Black - High Quality Case with Card Slot, Pocket and Premium Nubuck Fibre Interior: Computers & Accessories

Anyone found any other products that fit well? Some of the reviews of that Snugg one put me off, notably the magnets affecting things, the power slot not being there and the leather being smelly.

Would love to see a hard snap on case.... But with all the different models it is tough on manufactures.

Hence why Apple has tons of accessories.

I know my wife's 2 year old MacBook pro that we sold a couple of months ago looked the exact same as it is when it was purchased....... no scratches or dings in the lid. perhaps it would look that way without the case

    but options would be nice

Got this a week ago, and it is a snug fit, but it's getting looser the more I use it. I wasn't sure at first but I'm definitely pleased with it.

I think mines a Logitech t630, works fine and the battery lasts ages.
it is small though but the gestures on the mouse such as swiping left to right etc are great.

I'm sorry I don't quite understand? Is it if enough people request it they will produce one or you just have to let them know you want the 9530's hard cover and they will send you one?

Yes everyone who wants one please put in a request on the ipearl site. keep doing it weekly and maybe in a couple of weeks they finally decide to manufacture one. i think a fair price could be around 25?

Hi, I received the Dell Premier Sleeve ( http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=460-BBVF)

For folks who are looking for a laptop sleeve for an XPS 9530 (i.e. pre-2015 version of XPS; not the 9550), the above sleeve does not fit.

I am trying the Opin Slim Laptop Sleeve next tho not sure why it's so pricey (this sleeve is described as leather on the Dell website but I don't think it's full leather... maybe leather trim maybe; looks more like a denim material): http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A8471474

If anyone is interested, happy to report back whether or not it fits the 9530. Hope this helps!

    Hi ekk202,

I am looking for a slim sleeve with an extra pocket for the charger / mouse etc, thus I am really interested in the Opin Slim Laptop Sleeve as well.

Have you received your Opin sleeve yet? Would you mind sharing your thoughts on the quality, fit and features of the Opin Slim Laptop Sleeve?

Your help is much appreciated, thanks!

Decided to keep the opin sleeve. While better quality than most sleeves available at big box stores, it's not as premium as others in its price point. (Not leather as delll website describes except maybe zipper pulls) But it does fit an xps 9530 perfectly (seems to have been designed for the 2013-4 xps model with design as priority over protection). The extra pocket is purposefully slim and fits a compact mouse and 130 V compact charger but I wouldn't suggest it... Too lumpy for the sleek lines it intends. Interestingly, the packaging indicates Yves Béhar design, but without the cardboard sleeve's inconspicuously small signature, no indication that it's true. Interior color I recieved is yellow/white pattern (not as shown in picture) and there is a choice of two exterior colors (I chose tan vs black). Overall a nice choice specifically for the xps 9530, and if you're not looking to protect your laptop from higher than waist level drops but rather fashionable basic protection (as most sleeves intend) and can get it at discount, definitely recommend it for the better than average materials/design.

Dell xps 9550 is smaller/thinner than 9530 so may be better off with another made for 9550's dimensions. 9550 should fit opin sleeve but just not as nicely as 9530. I first tried dell's proprietary sleeve made for 9550 but does not fit my 9530 (and no pocket) cheers!
