I have managed to solve many of the issues this laptop has, but few problems still remain. The main annoyance that I currently have is that if I work with lid closed while connected to external monitor, monitor will go black for few seconds now and then.

This happens with both HDMI and USB-C connected monitors. Having lid opened, even if I projecting to external monitor only will not have this problem. I do have all the latest updates including Intel beta graphics divers.

Searching forums, I see other having this issue too but haven't seen any solution posted.

Most likely a bad cable or display port adapter. These things happen if the connector / cable is poor quality, or doesn't have the bandwidth to carry the resolution and refresh rate you have set.

    Replace the cable and adapter.

Cannot be cable issues (I did try different cables) since I have no issue with lid opened. Same problem when I use TB15 dock at home.

Found this thread on google. Same exact issue. Only when the lid is closed the flickering/disconnect happens. when the lid is open everything is fine.

Situation somewhat improved after I have installed latest Intel beta drivers (4444). Now, when connected through dock, I rarely have black screen, but at work I connect to HDMI port and black screen happens more often so I have to work with lid open.

I updated to the beta driver after reading your suggestion, and boom, no more black screen or flickering.

I used CCleaner to remove the Intel Graphics Driver,Intel Processor Graphics and Update Utility. Then ran the registry cleanup. Then rebooted, and installed the beta driver. I've had the HDMI plugged in with the lid closed for a few hours now and not one black screen or on/off.

I don't know if you removed all 3 programs, but try. Thanks again for the suggestion!
