The turbo speed depends on the number of core that are active. You can set the max for active cores in bios. Default is all 4. For all four cores active, max CPU is 3.1 GHz. And it will hit that speed readily on AC. On battery, max CPU is 2.6 GHz and that can't be gotten around.

Haven't noticed temps, but under heavy load you will get the fans spinning up. Fan noise is noticeable, but not unreasonable for load. People are more concerned about fans spinning up under zero load.

My experience is basically identical to dimsdale's. I'm pretty happy with it. I've been monitoring the temperatures and they're pretty low, 60s and 70s while gaming. The GPU is mostly under 80 at the same time.

I've seen mine hit 90C+ a couple times while playing Swtor which is a little bit concerning.

Glad to see that there is no throttle for CPU (I dont play game so GPU doesnt matter to me, if possible, I want to remove it to make the laptop lighter. I read somewhere 6700HQ does not even reach its TDP of 45W...around 35W only

If you don't play games it will be great, mine will run at peak 4 core boost without the fans even running at full speed. The GPU in this thing is half the thermal load.
