I bought Dell Studio xps 1645 7 months ago, something like this has not happened before but since last night the battery wont charge it says (plugged in, charging) But its NOT charging. does anyone has any idea what might be wrong?
    i'm using 90W adapter.
i read somewhere to uninstall "microsoft ACPI-Compliant control method battery"
and install it again. it worked for like less than a minute.

Might as well get the 130w adapter. The 90w was for a lack of a better word, recalled.

You can try turning off the laptop, unplugging the laptop, taking out the battery, putting in the battery, and plugging the laptop in WITHOUT turning it on. Give it an hour or so, and see if it's charging.

Well if that didn't work there's a good chance your battery is "dead." Batteries usually have a 1 year warranty, so if it's 7 months old there's a good chance you can call Dell and have a free replacement battery within a couple of days.

What country are you in? I got my 130 watt adapter at my front door about 18 hours after I called. It's even easier now, I think you just need to fill out a form.
