    Hello,

I just bought a loaded Dell Studio XPS 13 and a few days later the new macbooks came out. I currently have a 2 year old macbook, but want to upgrade to get things like a graphics card and a backlit keyboard, etc...

I was just wondering if you guys thought I should keep the dell or get the new Macbook Pro?

I have a mac currently and while it is nice and reliable it's not God's gift to the computer world if you know what I mean. The main reason I got it was b/c Vista had issus two years ago...I've heard that Vista's issues are mostly fixed now though. Any thoughts?

    I dont get you.

XPS 13 has better GPU(9500m vs 9400m), and backlit keypad as well; unless I really need a Mac, I'd just keep the dell.

You already paid premium for a XPS laptop, why pay more Apple tax?

Your in a Dell forum asking that! :p
That's like going into the Apple forum and asking, vice versa!

Keep the Dell! And, if you are really concerned...
I think it may be to your benefit to fill out this....(if needed)
I'm more of a Dell person, bet. either, I would choose the Dell! ;)

The new 13 MBP seem to have SATA issues atm, and it only has a 9400m gpu.

You save alot of money keeping the Dell. Plus, when it comes to software you get a much broader array at your finger tips (forget dual booting).

Plus, you're not sacrificing looks, if that even matters to you. The Studio XPS's are quite good looking and pack good hardware.

Lastly, you can almost forgo Vista entirely by installing Windows 7 on your laptop. I'm running it now and its great, I only had to use Vista for about a week after I got my 1640, and I'm going to get 7 as soon as its officially released.

Honestly, the biggest single thing that keeps me thinking of staying with Mac is the Time machine. That thing is awesome! It does get frustrating though when some software will not work with it...

    anymore thoughts?

i think that the macs look really good right now b/c no other manufacturer is releasing a notebook right now... in july/august, you'll see new releases with similar good features in a much lower price...
