So I had to do a clean install, but I didn't have any disks that Dell sent me....anyway after the install the wireless has like no signal, I have installed all the network drivers I could off the Dell website, but some say not compatible or device not found something along those lines. I am about 4 feet away from my router yet I only have 1 bar of signal I used to be able to get half my neighborhoods wireless signals now I only get mine & I can't be more than say 10 feet away otherwise it will not find anything.

It's like an antenna is broke or something. Has anyone encountered this problem before & if so how did you fix it?

    Hi BrockAK47,
My name is Amit and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell

I would recommend you to go to your router page and check the "channel" that how much it is set and increase it to "11", then remove the wireless antenna and then put it back to the wifi router....then update the BIOS driver form the support site and also update the wireless card driver and then check the signal strength and i'm sure it will enhance the signal strength.

Hope this will help you to resolve the problem.

    Thank you

    Dell- Amit

Thanks, I will try that. I would call my warranty, but I didn't realize it ran out so now im on my own, I will let you know how this works out

    EDIT:
well I just realized my router doesn't have a visible antenna it is a Motorola SURFboard SBG6580

I checked the BIOS is up to date, & the Wireless card driver is as well signal is still bad. Like I said I used to be able to get half my neighborhoods wireless signals now I can barely even get mine which is 4 feet away

    Hi BrockAK47,

Go to your Router Homepage and check the "channel" that what it is and increase it to "11" if its below that and then check the signal and this will surely increse the signal strenght.

Hope this will help you to resolve the problem.

    Thank you
