    Hello all,

I'm planning to buy a new notebook sometime between the end of this month
and August and I've been looking at loads recently. The main 3 I have in my eye
    is the:

    - Alienware M15X
    - Sager NP662
    - Dell Studio XPS 16

The Alienware looks quite nice but it's still only running DDR2 Memory and has a
    800MHz FSB.

The Sager has all the specs I would like but looks absolutely ugly to me.

The Dell Studio XPS 16 looks gorgeous but I'm not entirely happy with the
GPU. I was more after a 9800M GT then the ATI 3670.

Do you guys think the Dell Studio XPS 16 will be upgraded anytime before August? I'm kind of hoping for a Nvida GPU option but would be more then
happy to have one of the ATI 4 Series cards.

My budget is £2000 and I really want a notebook that can perform but also
looks the price I'll be paying for it. The Dell is the only one that screams out
    style in my opinion.

Do you people think it'll be worth waiting till August?

    EDIT:

I just realised that the Dell Studio 15 comes with an ATI 4570. How can they not offer that for the XPS?

the ati 3670 is not really a gaming gpu.

    have a look at the msi gt627 and gx620 (15.4") or gt725 and gx720 (17")
they both have quads, ati 4850s (better then 9800m gt) and are made of a aliminium case and look nice. plus msi made a special button you can use to OC.

i recomended this as im guessing you want to game, as you want a 9800m gt...

on the other hand, the SXPS is a multimedia laptop with by far the best laptop screen ever colour wise and its 16:9 with a 1080p screen (tho MSI has to).
the studio cant be beaten for multimedia like films, style (unless you want a apple).
its also very fast with the SSD, quick processor choices (T9800) and upto 8gb of DDR3. the only thing that lets it down is the graphics but it wasnt designed for games.

No way it will be an NVidia card. As somebody said, the XPS16 is not a gaming laptop, more of a multimedia laptop which is ATI's specialty. I am sure that was the reason Dell picked that over NVidia.

Nope, It's very unlikely Dell will upgrade its studio xps 16 to anything near an 9800m GT.

As regards the studio 15 - the 4570 is severely limited with its 64bit bus.

That's a real shame. I looke the design of the Studio 16 but just wanted more
    horsepower.

That MSI you recommend Owais looks cool. Is there any model that has at least
a 9800M GT though? I can't seem to find one.

All the really good spec'd notebooks never seem to look attractive.
