    Hi,

Here in the UK I'm having some trouble extending my warranty on an XPS M1530 that I bought from the Dell Outlet (its a refurbished machine).

    Dell are investigating for me.

Has anyone in North America successfully bought from the Dell Outlet over there and purchased an extension to the warranty?

    Cheers,

    Zebs

Purchased Dell XPS M1210 from the outlet in October 2007. Purchased a 2 year extension warranty in October 2008. The warranty was extended before the original warranty expired. I live in the United States.

Sometime in September 2008 (give or take) Dell contacted me via e-mail that the original one year warranty was going to expire. I called the Dell Customer Service number on the e-mail (which unfortunately I did not keep) and discussed my warranty extension options and decided on the 2 year extension.

EDIT: I found the e-mail. Although because you are in the UK I'm not sure the 1-800 number or any other information on it will help.

    I'm in UK,

Recently emailed dell about extending the warranty expecting cheap prices...

I have an M1330 and they offered me like £100 for one yr extension , £120 for two years extension, £140 for 3 and £160 for 4.

But my warranty on it doesn't expire for around 6 months so when the time comes i'l be haggling them like in a market. :)

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the info.
MrNYC - Its good to hear you've done this over there, it gives me hope it'll be allowed over here too!
own3d - Hmm those prices do seem quite high. Is your machine an Outlet machine BTW? I was being quoted 2 years extra for £93 or £103 (depending on who I spoke to  )

    Cheers,

    Zebs

I bought a Latitude XT off of the Outlet here in the US recently. I called in about the warranty extension within 30 days of purchase - I got quoted price which were cheaper than purchasing the warranty at point of sale! It all depends on who you talk to...
