    Hi

I have a dell xps m1730 running vista home premium. I have an odd dvd issue under mediadirect. Basically within Vista all dvd's play absolutely fine in variety of players (Mediadirect within Vista, Media Player 11 & Media Center). If I decide to the quick boot into only Mediadirect then everything works fine (music, pics, videos on hard drive). However dvd playback is erratic. Out of a test of 25 region 2 dvds about 8 of them refuse to play. It's as if the dvd freezes and won't play. Of the ones I got to play most of them launched the menus/film straight away whilst some didn't want to start until I selected the option to go direct to disc menu. Does anyone know why some won't work (in a vista based version of Mediadirect they play just fine!)

For what it's worth my dvd firmware was updated the other week & I don't know if these dvds played okay beforehand.

    Many thanks
    Wayne
