Check the system event log in the two minutes you get before it freezes.
Windows Start Button, right click Computer, then Manage to open the Computer Management dialog. In the navigation pane, expand Event Viewer, Windows Logs, System.
Look for error events occurring at the time of the last freeze. If no errrors there, check the Application log. Generally problems that would cause a system freeze will be in the System log. -
When i stop all the Services at System Configuration (Start-->Run-->msconfig) there is no freeze.
but i think this is error: The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block -
I've seen that error lock computers. If you're still under warranty, call Dell.
If not, you can run Dell or the disk manufaturer's diags on the disk. I don't know if the Dell diags will actually mark a block as bad, but the manufacture's utilities usually do. I've worked with both WD's and Seagate's, other manufacturers probably have similar.
You download the utility which generally provides a way to create a bootable CD, then boot from the CD and let it analize the disk and fix bad block errors, which I believe just marks them as no longer usable. Afterwards, it's likely you'll need to restore from an image or reinstall windows.
This won't work if the disk is really hosed, but when there's just a few bad blocks, I've had them run for years after repairing.
You could also install a new disk. -
I was looking some other articles and found that i should backup files ASAP and install new disk because i can lose all data.
Thanks for help.
