I have been trying to access the Dell Live Tech Support Chat for the past 3 days and have had no success. I keep getting a message saying that chat is closed or all reps are busy. Is everyone experiencing this problem?

You're talking about the tech support right? Not the sales reps.

How long does it usually take them to respond to an email? The site says within 24 hours. I don't want to call because I know I can't hold my ground in a verbal argument. I need to sit behind a keyboard to level the playing field.

I've chatted with them yesterday and tonight with no problems. Their email link hasn't worked for me though. Something with their plug-in.

What do you mean their plug-in? How do I fix it on my end? I've tried it in 3 different browsers and on two different computers.

My plug-in reference was in regard to their email tech support link. Everytime I fill out the form to send an email, it takes me to the next part and fails because of a plug-in for my browser. It happens on my Dell laptop as well as my desktop at work.
I had no problem with the chat though. All I can suggest is to make sure you have the latest adobe flash player and Java though.

Definitely. I've been unsucessful for nearly a week now. Your best bet is email or a phone call if it's urgent and you're comfortable talking on the phone. Then again, a few hour delay for the email might be the same amount of time you waste being on hold.

Good luck. By the way, how many times did your gpu fail before you got a replacement?

How do you guys go on about getting a replacement? I have had 1 fail, and my warranty is about to expire in 12 days (not counting the extended 1 year gpu). I had a optical drive issue and they are offering to send an onsite technician to replace it, I also got them to replace the 8400 mobo since I said I was having heat issues with my gpu. Is is possible to get a replacement model after the official warranty has expired and you are in the extended gpu period?

I think a few have had replacements under the limited warranty after several mobo failures. I called support for the first time today and it went really well. Was on hold for about 5 minutes. At the end of the call the rep told me to email them any time i had a problem and they will call me back. Even the manager came on at the end of the call an asked me if i was happy with the support! Now that's what i call service! :D
