    Hello all,

I been patiently waiting for my Dell laptop to arrive. i was promised 4 slots, but when it came i opened it up and only got 2 slots.

After calling Dell, he told me that he can either give me $100 back, or give me a free upgrade to the 3D version of this laptop. I dont really like the idea of having a 3D laptop screen especially since it will disable the Optimus on the Gt555m.

Can anyone provide for me power consumption tests for their 3D version?
on idle, full cpu, full gpu, full cpu + gpu.

    Thanks.

BTW, Here is what i ordered (From Canada):

    HDD: 1.0TB 500GB 7.2k HDD x 2
    Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 3GB graphics with Optimus
Optical Drive: Tray Load Blu-ray Disc BD-Combo (Reads BD and Writes to DVD/CD)
Battery: 92 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

You mean to say Dell XPS 1702X orders for non-3D (900p) only has 2 DIMM slots whilst the 3D (1080p) has 4 DIMM slots?

I would take the $100 and keep the laptop or maybe ask him for 3 yr warranty instead of the $100.
I returned my 3D XPS just because it didnt have the Optimus and WiDi technology. I like the idea of having 2 GPUs instead of one and better battery life like every other laptop with Sandy bridge.
But its all up to how important having 16gb or ram is to you. If you absolutely must have 16gb of ram then I guess you should just return the laptop and get something better or the settle for the 3D XPS.
