I have problem with XPS 15 WIFI, Intel 6230 card.

It say limited connectivity sometimes and sometimes the wireless card is not even detected.

I called Dell they remotley looked at my system and offered 2 option:

    1) Restore to company setting
    2) Replace the wifi card.

I want to avoid technician open my computer apart. I had bad experience with my other Dell Laptop.

For replacing the wifi card, Do they have to open the palm rest i.e top section beside keyboard.

Or it can be done by replacing it from the backside/downside panel of the laptop?

Is there any other fix for this issue other than the above 2 methods. Also please point me to similar issue web links.

My Wireless card can be seen easily just from opening the back cover. There are just 3 screws there so it's not exactly a difficult process.

I also have a lot of issues with WiFi, and I have the Intel WiFi Link 1000. Speaking to a few other members on this forum I figured it's just a really bad card. Bearing this in mind you may not find a solution with restoring or replacing your card, that's if yours is similar to mine.

    Hope I helped.

As I said, that's if yours is similar to mine.
