    Hey guys,

A friend of mine just purchased a Dell Studio 15 and I realized the Dell Dock on it would be a useful app for my XPS M1530 as well.

However, I've been reading past posts and articles saying that the Dell Dock has bugs and is not as stable as other freely available ones like Objectdock, Rocketdock, and Stardock.

Since I have a Dell, I was thinking of just sticking to the Dell Dock...

Is there a stable version for the official Dell Dock that is downloadable as of now, which would work flawlessly on my XPS M1530?

Do I need to install any additional drivers for it? Or is it simply in a .exe installer file?

Would you guys recommend I still download the Dell Dock? (Because my two choices are downloading the Dell Dock or not...I don't want any third-party dock)

Thanks for any replies and answers to my queries...

    just use Stardock's Objectdock

i believe Dell's dock is just a version of Objectdock (objectdock comes with free and paid version)

    EDIT:
    http://www.delldock.com/

dell dock IS a verison of Objectdock

Does the Dell Dock come w/ all the features of the "free" version of Objectdock?

Or does it match the features of the paid version? Do you know if it would work fine on my XPS 1530?

I've tried other docks before and they've just slowed my system down so I uninstalled them all. But I was hoping the Dell Dock was stable enough since it's supposed to be only for Dell notebooks right?

there is NO difference in hardware between 'Dell' notebooks and 'HP' notebooks....

im currently using the free version of the ObjectDock

i believe the dell dock has the 'tabbed' feature that is only available in ObjectDock paid...which is this feature i think

get the Stack Docklet 'plugin' for ObjectDock... its useful

How is Dell Dock unstable? I've had it on my Studio 15 since day one, and it has caused no problems whatsoever. (I do have some hardware problems related to the Studio 15 however.)
