    Hello everyone.
This is my first post but I've read a lot of good information on here lately. I'm planning on buying a Dell xps m1530 a few months from now and have been trying to do some reading on them. I just came across this article at this url:
    http://www.decheung.com/2007/03/how...y-dell-ati-hypermemory-nvidia-turbocache.html
While I'm not looking at that particular card, I am looking at the 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT video card. I was wanting to make sure this one has 256MB of dedicated (discrete?) video memory and not 128MB.

Any Info is greatly appreciated.

Also, how large of a difference would the 'Turbo Cache' make compared to fully dedicated?

The XPS has 256MB of GDDR3

The only 128MB one is one of the macbookpro. The 14'' T61p also comes with a 64bit bus rather than 128bits

TurboCache/Hyper Memory is dynamically allocated RAM that is borrowed by the GPU for use as VRAM. Its performance is on par with integrated graphics memory performance; it sucks.

Call Dell to get the answer straight from the horse's mouth.

Well, Apple offered a 128MB 8600M GT in their base level MacBook Pro for almost a year, actually. However, I don't think Dell has ever sold any flavor of 8600M GT but the 256MB DDR2 (Inspiron/Vostro 15.4") or 256MB GDDR3 (XPS 15.4") varieties.
