Is DW370 a seperate USB module that will take up one USB port or is it taking up one of the side express card slot?

I also see that Studio XPS 16 has a light at the front for bluetooth, so if the USB module is seperate and not integrated in the system, does this mean that this light is useless?

    Appreciate the help.

The rep on the phone said its a usb module...he said it isnt emedded because of some Windows 7 compatibility issue. I sure hope hes wrong because yes that would make the bluetooth button rather pointless. So it shouldnt take up any type of slots at all and IS embedded?

I've never "seen" this mystical DW370 Bluetooth USB device. Even when I was ordering, it was called "USB" or whatever.

Unless this is a relatively new switch (internal to external), you should get the normal internal DW 370 as I have Windows 7 and mine is internal.

was the bluetooth ever included (not an add-on) with the SXPS? on the specsheet it says "Bluetooth internal mini card standard". With some of the configurations on dell.ca you dont even have the option to add anything bluetooth, so the button could be useless for a lot of people. if backlit keyboard and wifi are standard youd think bluetooth would be by now as well seeing as its only a $20 add-on.

The button controls all wireless interfaces:WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. You can change what it controls in the BIOS. It isn't "useless" for a system that didn't have BT.

BT is sometimes "default" included, but it has always been an add-on AFAIK. If it isn't available on the Canada systems, then they simply don't have the add-on card as an option. It isn't built into the motherboard.

Few people really use BT with their laptops. Everyone can use WiFi and a back-lit keyboard on their laptops.
