What is the Correct Processor for the Dell Studio 1535
    (My problem below)

So I need a little help here. I am repairing a dell studio (1537) for one of my co-workers. While removing the disk drive I ended up killing the motherboard.
Now Replaced the motherboard with 1535 with ATI (I bought the wrong motherboard by accident) and it works but it tells me "Processor Microcode Update Failure"
So, I've searched but am having trouble finding the right processor.

Before you say I'm horrible at fixing computers. It still boots up and I'm fixing this for my co-worker for free (even paying for all the parts myself, so much for my tax Refund)

(Edit) Newest Bios from Dell is installed (A06 I think it was) and still says message on boot

Looks like I will end up using a T8300 800 FSB Core 2 Duo and see how that works

Dell Studio 1535 has Santa Rosa so PM/GM965 so any 800 FSB Core 2 Duo will work. Best bets are like T7200/T8300/T8100.

What is the actual processor you're trying to install in the thing? You might just be able to do a BIOS flash and get rid of the error...

The 1537s are Montevina platform and capable of a 1066MHz FSB, however the 1535s are Santa Rosa platform and only capable of 800MHz FSB. My guess is that you are trying to run a 1066 processor on a motherboard that only runs at 800, and the BIOS doesnt have the CPU instructions to run it correctly. You can try to upgrade the BIOS, but that may not help.

Any T7xxx will work. T8100 or T8300 should work. T9300 should also work.
P8xxx and P9xxx will not work.
