I want a studio xps 16, no doubt but am curious about the cooling issues. The design of the bottom back edge of the laptop lid(screen) covering the only vents on the machine is pretty ridicules. Has anyone tried taxing the cpu/gpu while having the screen far forward? I know this might be physically impossible and play at the same time. Maybe a time demo in unreal or something newer. If not possible to see the screen but still use the keyboard perhaps output the signal to an external monitor and play for 10 mins and see if the hot areas are as hot as before. I have not held/seen a xps 16 but from the pics it seems that the leather inset is a piece the is on both the top and rolls over the back edge to behind, covering the vent. Visually its seems that it is "just" a piece that is "plugged" into the rest of the lid so maybe they just need to redesign the leather piece shape to make an opening for the air when the laptop is fully open. Hell if the piece was plastic or metal and you could easily/reliably dismantle the lid you could drill some openings urself. Well maybe I wouldn't recommend that if I had a beautiful xps 16 in my hands right now...but ya get what i mean.
Anyways I have my IT guy emailing our work rep to see if the video card will be updated anytime soon.
    thanks for your time,
