You should be able to find compressed air at a photography store... and cleaning your laptop is vital as heat is a serious problem for all models. Use the compressed air to dislodge any dust caking the fan blades or heat sink, then apply a vacuum cleaner to the vents to clean out the loose dust.

PC World sell cans of compressed air but at £10 which is ridiculously expensive. Otherwise try eBay and you'll be able to get the same for half the price.

Maplins also sell Compressed air or If you have a Costco card you can get a pack of 6 cans for the price you would normally pay for one can.

I'm surprised no one thought of this. Go to the nearest gas station with your laptop and use the free air pump and blast the dust off your laptop. That is, if UK have such gas stations. I do this all the time, or even at home with my air compressor.

.... thats strange. I've never thought of that. Here in Canada though, I believe they charge 50 cents for its use.

BY all means use compressed air to blow out the keyboard, but I wouldn't advise using it on the fans!
All that will do is blow the dust bunnies into the interior of the laptop, and it could eventually cause overheating!

A much better idea, is to use a hoover (a car vac is ideal) with a small attachment/brush ;)
