I've been doing a bunch of searching regarding the warranty on the M1730, but all I've been finding is a lot of information about the faulty GPUs in the M1730 and how people have hard a hard time getting Dell to properly address the problem.

So, I've also seen that a few people have been able to get Dell to replace their M1730s with an M17x. Does anyone know exactly how this works?

For example, if I have an M1730 with Complete Care on it and something were to happen to it to the point where the damage was irreparable, would Dell replace it with a used M1730 or give me a new M17x?

Complete Care is for accidents. They don't cover "intentional accidents" or full submersion into water. They will cover coffee/beer/wine spills onto the keyboard, however.

The M1730 graphic card issue is really not a Complete Care issue; it's a standard warranty issue.

Since the M1730 is no longer manufactured; if you need a replacement computer (you drop it off a 3 story balcony) then you would get a replacement m17x
