    Hey everyone,

I have just installed COHOP (Ver 2.301) on my M1730. I was expecting to run it on top settings i.e Ultra Textures, 1900x1200 res seens I have a 8800m gtx SLI, but I am only able to run it on medium specs at 1440x900 for smooth gameplay.
    Is this about right?
Just wondered what setting other 8800m owners where running it at?

Ps I have a T9300, Nvidia 179.13 and are running Nhancer

    Regards Jim

Try turning off the DX10 shaders.

your cpu is bottle necking your 8800s you need the x9000 at about 3ghtz to get the full performance out of the psyx and duall 8800s.

    Cheers ppl for replying,

I am running it in DirectX 9 already DirectX 10 performnce was rubbish

What ! ! ! A 2.5Ghz Processor is making COHOP slow? In Vista Index rating it reccomends a score of 4.0. I have a score of 5.1. Thats why i thought i could run it on MAX.

    Cheers Jim

can you disable the physx card in the bios? i have no m1730 myself (so correct me if it isn't possible), but it should alleviate some resource demands. (issuing of instructions to it, it issuing interrupts to the CPU, etc)

I have disabled via software. There is the option in the Nvidia Control Panel to disable it.
It was one of my first thoughts but it hasnt seemed to make a difference.

I know this is a benchmark for a M1730 with a x9000 but should mine really fall behind it buy such a great deal.

    "Company of Heroes
    1920x1200, 'Ultra' settings, 4xAA, 8xAF, DirectX 10
    Stock speeds: min/avg/max 37/60.3/71
    Overclocked: min/avg/max 37.1/65.6/75.2 "

    extected from http://www.gameon.co.uk/hardware/review/2008/dell-xps-m1730-review

    Mine
    1920x1200, 'Ultra' settings, 4xAA, DirectX 10 NO 8AF
Stock speeds :min/avg/max 17.0/38.1/59.9 SLI ENABLED
    :min/avg/max 10.3/20.4/59.9 SLI DISABLED
    Overclocked:min/avg/max 4.4/23/3/59.9 560/860/1510

As you can see SLI enabled is the best performance in the benchmark but is completely unplayable in the game. For some reason the benchmark does not repesent how well the game plays.
