Curious if this would work with m1210 as well.

Dell used to make a utility to change it (which I think is what that site is using, but you could download it from Dell directly). I used it on my 600m.

I tried it on my m1530 some time ago and it didn't work anymore on the newer BIOS, but that site could have an updated version.

i know dell used to make a utility for this ( http://support.dell.com/support/dow...1&typecnt=1&libid=7&releaseid=R55037&vercnt=1) but this new utility works for different models so i'm assuming it's based on a different architecture, it works on the M1730 and M1330 so it seems to support newer computers, i'm just reluctant to try it on my laptop because i depend on it and i'm not willing to have to put it through service/repairs for a broken bios.

[IMG] Modifying the BIOS using untested 3rd party tools is not advisable. It can make your notebook unusable. [IMG]

Just a small warning for those who might not know the risks involved in an incorrect BIOS update.

What about just getting a status text post, instead of an image?

I tried the tool from that site a few months back but it didn't work at all.
