Hi, I just replaced my LCD on my laptop today. After booting up, i saw a blue vertical line on the right side. When I open other application, the blue lines will disappear. If i went to screen saver mode, the line will reappear again. I know this is not a hardware issue because if it is then the line will be there permanently. I think this is a software related issue. Can someone help me?

It's likely either a problem with the new glass or a connection to it.

If this was mine, I'd crack the case again and make sure that all the ribbon cables are installed perfectly square to their lockdown connectors.

You didn't say why you changed the glass, but if the old one still works, and the blue line is still there after verifying the connections, you might put it back in.

If the line is there on the new glass, but not on the old, they new glass must be bad, despite the fact the line disappears in some apps.

What do you mean new glass? I don't find any glass on this.
Somehow the blue vertical line disappear for now.
If I put back the old LCD then there is no blue line. Is it possible that it is the ribbon cable's fault?

    Sorry...slang. "glass"=LCD display.

If the same ribbon was used for both, then it's probably OK, maybe just not connected quite right when attached to the motherboard.

If the new display had it's own cable, then it's an issue with that cable or the display.
