    Hi,

I was thinking to upgrade to 64 bit windows 7.

I insterted the dvd and boot from it but when after clicking install button, it asks me to insert the drivers cd for my "dvd drive"... and if I dont insert it, it doesnt continue.. Any one wanna to help me?

My dvd drive is sony optiarc 7640s. I searched net, but cant found thd drivers.

On site only frimware is available, is FW is what I needed?

    Thanks in advance

I downloaded the ISO and installed. It was fine, no disc required.

You should put the image on a USB drive and install it that way. It's faster aswell! Google for instructions on how to do this.

Did you try just booting off the dvd? There really isn't such a thing as DVD drivers. I have a different driven then you (Have the samsung) but there was nothing special about the install.

Regardless I second the USB key idea. Never done it with 7 but Vista and XP are both lightning fast installs off of a USB key.

EDIT: Actually read your post this time. Have no idea why you can't boot from it. Just do the USB install.

How big of a USB stick do you need to install Win 7 on it?
    EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer.
