    I am looking at a M1730 with 1 8700M GTS 256 MB card. Am I able to upgrade this to an SLI-8800GTX when the prices come down???

    Yes, IHMO it's possible.Dell does it though it;s slower.I don't know if you can fit a sli card from ebay and just put it in.

    Try getiing it off ebay as RAMBO29 said and putting it in.There are also some videos on youtube on how to do this.

    It is way to costly to upgrade. You are better selling your laptop as is and buy a new one (or refurb) with the cards in it already.
