I got a new M1330 2 weeks ago with built-in bluetooth. I purchased Cardo S-2 wireless stereo headphones to use on this laptop but they will not make a sound from the earpieces aside from some setup procedure beeps. The pairing process seemed to go smoothly, as both the headphone function LED's and Vista-32 bluetooth setup screen acknowledged each step of the setup procedure, including the 0000 manually-entered code.

Anybody actually get bluetooth stereo headphones to work with a Dell laptop with their 355 bluetooth built-in??

Dell customer service helped by trying some other drivers. As a last ditch effort, a simpler non-stereo Cardo single ear cell phone device was chosen for hardware testing and it successfully made a clear bell chime from both ears of my headset. This seemed to prove the headset is not DOA. It would not make any other sounds though.

It appears to me that Dell has some Vista-32 driver &/or compatibility issues.

I used the bluetooth version drivers ending in xxxx.3100

    any help appreciated.

Do you have the headphones selected as the Default Playback Device in the audio properties? Even if they're paired and connected, the sound will still come from the speakers unless they're selected as the default device.

What he said. I used to use bluetooth headsets with the Widcomm stack and that was one thing I could not stand. It routed all the audio to the headset (which was bad for anything but chatting) and the sound quality was very poor to boot.

I ended up buying my 1330 without bluetooth and bought the 360 module instead and installed it so I could use the Toshiba stack. When I connected my headset to it it automatically asked if I wanted to use it with Skype (which is exactly what I use it for) and routed only the Skype audio to it so I could have music playing through my speakers simultaneously.
