    Hi everyone,

I just bought a Microsoft Bluetooth 3600 mouse for my XPS 13 9360. Although I am pretty satisfied with the mouse itself, I noticed that it will wake the laptop up if you move or click it even when the laptop is sleeping with its lid closed. This is very annoying since you might accidentally wake up the computer when it's in a backpack or something. I tried to turn off the mouse's ability of waking up the computer but there is no such option in device management. So I was wondering if anyone has had similar problem here. Thanks.

UPDATE: after turning off connected standby, everything is back to normal and my mouse would no longer wake up the laptop no matter the lid is closed or not.

Check powercfg, in the elevated command prompt.

Hi, I have checked using powercfg -devicequery wake_armed and it returns None. But the mouse still wakes the laptop up...

Same situation - anyone has a solution?

Is there a way to not allow devices like Bluetooth mouse and keyboards wake up the laptop from sleep?

My "Allow this device to wake the computer" is grayed out under Device Manager and I don't think there is an option through the BIOS. Every other computer I have has this option available but the "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" is grayed out. My XPS is the complete opposite - The "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" is available whereas the "Allow this device to wake the computer" is grayed out.

I know it has a wake on wireless lan option in the BIOS, might be worth turning it off if it is on and checking.
Also do the same to the wireless card properties in device manager as that is the main device but has BT built in.

Thanks for your assistance, can you provide a screenshot to indicate where this feature is found in BIOS and from device manager? I checked again and for the life of me can't figure out which option to disable...appreciate it!

You can't take a screenshot from the BIOS, just plod through all the menus.

After the mouse wakes up the laptop, what does powercfg -lastwake say?
You could also try powercfg -energy, put the laptop to sleep, move the mouse so it wakes up, and check if there's sth relevant in the log.

I just disabled mouse wake on another laptop using powercfg -devicequery wake_armed / -devicedisablewake. It didn't work the first time when I disabled the listed mouse, but it stopped waking after I disabled the listed keyboard too, following a suggestion found online.
There are also checkboxes for wake ability in Device Manager among mice, keyboards and HID devices (a Power Management tab which may be present).
