I have a Studio XPS 1640 that I bought approximately two months ago. It was working fine until today. I was bored and was playing Chess Titans when the screen would all of the sudden go blank. The keyboard would not respond and I had to do a hard shutdown. I played Chess Titans again and it was working fine for a few games but all of the sudden it went to the blank, black screen again and I had to do a hard shutdown.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? The only thing that I have done to the laptop was undervolting but that was a couple weeks ago.

Put up the voltage one notch and see if that fixes it

The thing is, when I play any other games, such as Left 4 Dead for around 45 minutes or so, this would not happen at all whereas 10-15 minutes of playing chess would lead to the black screen/non-functioning keyboard.

I'll up the voltage and see what happens.
