I was looking into buying a speaker set before I head out for college. I prefer at least a 2.1 set (speakers + subwoofer). I saw the Hercules XPS 2.1 Lounge Speakers from Dell. Are those good? Or can anyone recommend a better solution?

I returned the AudioEngine A2's cause they sounded to weak/thin. Not enough bass for me and I'm not even talking about Rap/R&B. Just regular stuff.

Really? I find the bass superb for such small speakers.

if space is not too big of an issue. buy a set of loitech 2.1 speakers. they run about $150 and have enough bass to shake the house down. trust me you wolnt regret buying them

I'm also looking for a new speaker/sub system for when I get my XPS. I'm ordering mine with the Bluetooth card; can one get battery powered/chargeable wireless bluetooth speakers? And/or headphones?

i would not recommend blu tooth headphones/speakers. They never work as well IMO.
