There are lots of discussions on various threads about calibrating batteries in BIOS, but I can't find this with XPS 1530. Is it just not there, or am I missing it? How can I go about calibrating the battery, if bios won't do it?

    Thanks a bunch.

It is only available on some computers with some BIOS revisions. For example, I have the option on my G2S, but not my 1000H. You can achieve similar results by depleting your battery while on, then fully recharging it. There are different methods and tools, the above has worked for me. You may want to see about updating the BIOS or wait for a 1530 user to post.

I do not believe this feature is available on the M1530. I don't remember seeing the option in mine.

Update on charging, just did some of my own research and I would like to change my post. It is said every 30 or so recharges, to do a full recharge, but refills or top-offs are best for the interim charges. They are LION, so no issues with memory, but the full recharge helps keep the battery meter accurate. I use PC Wizard to determine battery health. Also, keep the battery in cool environment and unplug during extended plug-ins situations. Good luck.
