usbvideo.sys is related to the webcam. Are you using the facial recognition to logon?

I'd boot up in safe mode, and updating the webcam drivers and facial recognition software. If that doesn't work, boot in safe mode and disable facial recognition. If that still doesn't work, try booting in safe mode and disable the webcam all together. You'll know what the problem was when it starts booting normally.

I have everything updated, i have the facial recognition software disabled but it still shows that login icon on the side. This might happen once a day or once a week but still bothers me.

    Thanks in advance

If FastAccess (the facial recognition) is disabled, then it is not part of the problem. The login tile may still be present, but there in "Disabled" mode, there is no code running. I'm not sure what the issue it is, but it seems that you can rule out FastAccess.

I have the same laptop and I am experiencing what sounds like the same issue.

Cold Boot, Password Screen for Windows 7, Enter password and wait for desktop to load, hear a garbled logon sound and then crash to BSOD with usbvideo.sys blamed for the crash.

Allow the machine to reboot, enter password, sound is still a little garbled, machine boots to desktop.

I just spent an hour on the phone with dell support who walked me through updating the bios to version A11, and then performing a set of built in video tests accessed via holding the 'FN' key whilst powering on the laptop.

The final conclusion was that it was a software issue as the machine was able to boot into safe mode without problem. The suspicion being a driver clash or bad install is the problem, I was directed to call 0844 338 1600 for help resolving the issue which is Dell's paid for software support.
