I been using my 1645 lately and noticed that it always running hot, the fans are always running accelerated, my average temps for the cpu are high 50's to 60's and this is normal utilization and not using hard core apps, i was wondering what are your average temps you guys get...

These are my temps running Chrome and playing something in iTunes.

Please note that I had the same issues until I changed out my thermal paste.

Now, my fans are pretty quiet. Before, they had sounded like a jet turbine.

My average idle temps lately have been climbing (it's getting warmer) but a few weeks ago the average idle temp was 60~65C now it's 60~70C :(

My fan is clean, and the idle temp is going up because the ambient temp is going up lol.

Doesn't the ambient temperature have a pretty big effect on what your reading will be? Here the ambient temp is 27C and my 720QM idles around 50-54C, stock thermal paste.

It does play a role in what your temp will be. Lower in the winter. Hotter in the summer.

Applied AS5 a couple days ago and haven't noticed any difference :( but this morning i have been messing around with the power profiles and was able to park all cores except one, and disabled the intel turbo frequency and i have noticed it cranked down the temperature but this is good for normal browsing and simple stuff, people worried about their temps and have moments where they just need to do something simple or traveling, i would recommend you create a power profile and enable these, you will have a quite notebook and longer power duration in case if you are on battery

im getting a range from 53 (min) - 63 (max)
its usually high 50's to low 60's
Which is ridiculous when im doing nothing but surfing
Even worse when im playing a game, i get as high as 80, but usually around mid 70s. Its to the point where my palm is hot

56-61C, room temp is a very hot 82F, computer is idle other than I got like 10 tabs open. Fan is a step above the usual "low setting" probably because it's hot as hell in here.

Edit: room temp went down ~5c, so did laptop temperature (now averaging 51). Fan is remaining on lowest setting. Laptop is 2 weeks old, stock thermal paste, i720QM.
