I have a M1330 Dell XPS. I thought I would like the aluminum palm rests. But to me it makes the surface kind of slippery and I have to put more effort in keeping my palms on the surface. Am I just being to picky or have others felt this?

I have used it once and it was not slippery. But perhaps you have sweat on your hands. Try to clean them up.

My palm rest is bigger, and therefore my bug hands fit in perfectly and They have a good grip even when my hands are sweaty. They also do not get as hot as the m1530. Its not cold, nor hot when i play games like crysis, call of duty, far cry 2 etc. It has normal temps.

i have the m1530, and it has never bothered me because its slippery... it actually holds my hands in place really well!

Try cleaning off all the grease and sweat ( sounds bad, but thats how it is mate :D ) and if you use some kind of hand moisturizer, it could be the one causing this.

your problem seems weird to me because my hands never slip off, and when im gaming my left hand barely touches the palmrest because it starts to cut blood flow ( as you can tell there im a bit skinny... )

I have the XPS 1530..have small hands..and I never have had a problem with this whatsoever..and I keep my hands moisturized....Maybe try keeping the palm rest wiped down with a microfiber cloth before each use?

i have big hands, and also no problem... could it possibly be that the aluminum lost texture due to extensive use? i saw somewhere users reporting their palmrests got discolored.

you wouldn't believe how corrosive sweat is, hence the keyboards loosing their letters heheh :D

May be it's the palm rest which is getting used up. I think you should call dell for a replacement.

naw, it's just i am used to my old which had plastic. i could rest my wrists on it and there would be a slight grip from the surface...enough to where my wrists would rest comfortably and i wouldn't have to nudge them up continuously. With the aluminum I the surface is so smooth there is no tracktion/grip at all so I feel like I can't completely rests my wrists since I have to put some strain in holding them forward.
