I have a ext dock and wanted to get a 3TB HDD internal. It's internal cause my ext dock takes internal HDD's. Anyway according to Western digtial

WD Caviar Green click on large capicity hardrives

    Not all mobo's support 3TB's HDD's.

For it to work the mobo must support UEFI

    Yes it will support it.
When you first plug it in to format it with disk management you must select to use GPT (GUID partition table), not MBR.

It's windows 7 that needs to support it. Which it does.
The mobo only needs a UEFI bios if you plan to boot from the drive.

Yes, using a GPT partition table you will be able to see/use the full 3 TB (2793GiB).

If you use MBR, im not sure but i think it will only let you use the first 2.19TB

This HDD 3TB is for a external dock and the the 3TB HDD is a SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive this is not for internal laptop. I thought I made my self clear.
