Looking at adding a 9 cell when I order, can anyone direct me to pics of the amount the 9 cell protrudes vs the 6 cell?

The 1530 link is fine but I don't see any pics in the link for the 1330 with the 9cell installed (inserted?)?

I read that it raises the back up 3/4".

I just ordered the M1530 and used a 25% coupon which knocked off $400.

Personally I feel the M1530 has the better looking 9-cell battery. On the M1530, it just sticks downward, but the M1330 has it sticking out of the back and bottom. Kinda ugly imo.

Pic above is of the M1330.

^Must agree with you there - I'd actually rate the 1530's 9cell equally pleasing aesthetically

I'd much rather they had the notebooks draw and store 10 mins or so of power internally somehow from the regular 6 Cell so that you could hot-swap one battery with another ad infinitum without fear of rebooting the system and losing your work. (The AC adaptor by association would then need some sort of cradle-esque functionality in order to charge the spare batteries sans-chassis aswell).

You then wouldn't need all these 'varieties' of battery, and could simply buy a couple of the one that was specifically designed to fit the notebook in the first place.

Is that really such an absurd notion?!

You know, why doesnt Dell stick a solar panel on the back of the 6 and 9 cell. It wouldnt add any thickness or change its shape, plus it can charge the battery randomly while on the go.

How long does a charge last for the 6 and 9 cell?

I dunno about an M1330, but it varies, typically you can get at least 2 hours and 30 mins with 6-cell and 3 hours and 40 minutes with 9 cell on M1530.

Um... cos the panel would be facing down... towards your desk... It wouldn't get any sunlight
Also, find me a 1mm thick solar panel, capable of delivering a current of more than a couple mA for less than the price of a second battery.

Unless sarcasm was the order of the day in which case... haha?
