DBAN won't work properly on my M1530. I'm just curious if any other owners had success. I'm using the latest stable version 1.0.7. I've tried using DBAN on my M1530's original harddrive, newer upgraded harddrive, and several external usb harddrives. No success. DBAN works properly on my older laptop though. Unfortunately, my older laptop is an overheating nightmare. While I appreciate suggestions of other erasing programs (e.g. Eraser), I'd like to keep this topic focused on M1530 DBAN compatibility as much as possible.

It's because DBAN does not have the SATA drivers. I suggest putting the drives in a desktop that DBAN works on and running it there, as SATA laptop drives will connect to desktop SATA connectors without a problem. Plug and play.
