    Any Idea why my realtek HD audio driver keeps CPU maxed all the time?

    Every time I run my system plugged in the CPU is always at 2.8Ghz and it is always this RtkNGUI64.exe that is running the cpu and if I stop the process the CPU drops to idle.. is there a reason for this?

    My friend had the same problem with his laptop, with my same specs (see signature).

    What he did was unistall the drivers and reinstall it. He tried both the manifacture drivers site (DELL) and the official one on the realtek website.
    He stopped as well to run the drivers at windows startup.

    He solved it in this way. I hope it helps.

    I found this post else where and it gave me two registry keys and I entered them and all is well now..

    I just uninstalled the Realtek drivers completly. The ones off the Realtek site and the ones on the Dell site all did the same thing. I was wondering why my laptop was always running warm aroungd 60 to 70 C when I was not evening playing games and just doing lite web surfing.

    Just uninstall them and Windows will install the High Definition Audio Device. The sound is the same but it is a lot less taxing on the CPU. The audio process uses around a half percent compaired to the Realtek which used around 4% and the RtkNGUI64.exe which used around 20 to 30% CPU. Now unless I am gaming my temps are around 45 C web surfing.
