What size hard drive/speed do you have running and how much noise does it make?

I have a 200 gig @ 7200 rpms and it's making way too much noise, at least a lot more than my first m1530 that had a 160 gig @ 7200 rpms.

My 160gig 7200rpm is fairly quiet when I use Notebook hardware control

Notebook hardware control? Is that a 3rd part program?

I have a 250gig 5400rpm, very quiet. I guess my input really wouldn't matter too much being it's not 7200rpm, sorry.

Constant clicking noise until I set it up in performance mode in the bios.

I'm hoping the excessive noise has something do with my bent chasis.

Is the 1530 worth configuring up to 7200 rpm HDD?
Should I get 2 gigs or 4 gigs of ram with windows vista home premium?

really quiet ..when performance mode enabled it is a bit louder but not much and no clicking sounds...for performance I went with the 7200 and 3 gigs is great as 4 won't be fully utilized unless you went to 64 bit I believe...cheers! go for the 4mb cache in the t7500 at least as well...

Im assuming the 7400 is a typo. It's 7200 rpm.
