**ATi Catalyst 10.3a Driver Official Release**

hm, the desktop version won't install on it but there's mobility version, so i think that's what we need to install now.

 

Yes. I checked it that time but it will only showing for 4000 HD and 9.9 beta. I guess they updated it an hour back.

btw this driver (8.712.0) seems to be actually older than 10.3a (8.712.3)

 

I dont know about that. As i could recall even 10.3a was 8.712.0.
I think this Official driver is exactly the same as 10.3a.

There is still no HDMI/Avivo/HydraVision Driver included...

I installed what we thought was the notebook driver , but was the desktop driver , it installed the hdmi and catalyst control center but no display driver , then i installed 10.3 notebook driver and my hdmi socket works great with audio , it is a temp fix , hopefully ati will sort this out.

 

Ya I know its included wid the desktop version but why do we have to go through this workaround!!!

 

i dont't really know why ati bothers releasing mobility drivers, it would be much simpler to just enable mobility support in desktop drivers..

then agree and hit next it and should come up.

And these will work on any ATI card Mobillity/Desktop that has an HDMI port

No Problem, Glad i could help and these actually will unlock the 7.1 for HDMI as well, before highest i could get for some reason was 2 channel only.

 

Here's the deal with the Mobility driver. ATI didn't release 10.3a for the Mobility line, it was the final 10.3 released early. Only desktops got 10.3a.

 

Ok that is confusing now between 10.3a and now 10.3 and the issues with Hydravision and CCC. On a clean formatted hard disk with no previous driver, what can I install which version? Desktop then mobility or its not need anymore? Any links for the final good driver?

 

I did an uninstall of the drivers through device manager then windows automatically found the newest drivers 8.712.3.0

 

I think you are posting about 8.710.3.0 (found in 10.3 Preview, non-WHQL, found on strags.com).

Ok, here's what I did to get the current driver and these options:

• I ran 10.3a Uninstall (as I had 10.3a installed though f*ed using the normal procedures).
• Rebooted
• Ran Driver Sweeper, cleaned ATI Drivers
• Rebooted
• Installed 10.3 preview (from gaah's Strags.com).
• Rebooted
• Ran 10.3a Installed, used Custom Option, unchecked CCC (1st option).

I see Driver Version: 8.712.0.0 (3/2/1010), Hyrda Tab and AVIVO/Video options

ATI High Definition Audio Device: 7.11.0.7703
Catalyst Control Center Version: 2010.0205.1306.23449

Does this work for you guys? Edit: gals?

 

Perhaps I missed a post with this info.. what version shows up for you in Device Manager under: Sound, video and game controllers | ATI High Definition Audio Device?

 

I did it myself.

Before:
7.11.0.7703 (1/21/2010) - In Device Manger, name is: ATI High Definition Audio Device

After (installing from his link above):
6.0.1.6034 (1/26/2010) - In Device Manger, name is: ATI HDMI Audio


My first reply would be, do not install this via the Realtek website (his link above).

I will do some testing with 6.0.1.6034 with it and post later.

I think Realtek keeps the generic driver. The latest one would be directly provided to ATi internally to add it to the Catalyst Suite. Guess??

Exactly the same as mine , so hopefully it`s right.

 

Using the steps with my Posts above, I have Catalyst Version 9.7

I get the Hydra tab, which are do not have according to your Pic

 

After I installed the official mobile driver 10.3, the hydravision tab is gone in the cacalyst control center panel. Did anyone have the same problem as me?
I tried uninstalling and re-installing the hydravision again, but still cannot see the hydravision tab.

but mine has extra "Catalyst version 9.11"

 

Now here is the trick. You do have the ATi RADEON LOGO and Not ATi FIREPRO but you have Studio 15 right? I think you could try driver sweeper and install this driver.

Preview driver got further updated to 10.3b but only for Desktop as we know.

Man I have the Firepro logo too on my SXPS1640 ! Do you know why this is? So strange, gah.

 

I have no Idea what so ever. All the Catalyst drivers i have installed yet says Ati FirePro and not Ati Radeon Premium Graphics.

 

does anyone have problem saving scaling factor when connecting hdmi to your tv/plasma/lcd? it appears not to hold this setting.

overall, installation went smooth from 9.10 to 10.3. i just uninstall all ati stuff/driver and reboot computer, then installed 10.3 without any issues with my sxps hd3670.

 

I have the same problem as cccplus. Connected thru HDMI, scaling options do not save anymore... had to revert back to the last version until they fix this problem or there is a patch or something..

Yes it is. It sounds like you have had issues with photoshops openGL features, CS4 will only allow openGL fuctionality only if the video driver is WHQL / digitally signed. I have the 10.5 Beta installed and I'm back to no openGL support again But at least i got hydravision controls back along with a new 'video converter' feature in CCC. 3D06 and 3Dvantage scores also improved ~50 pts at default settings.

There is so much buzzing going around on for these 2 drivers and now 10.4 Preview, I have got too confused which to use or rather stay wid 10.3? and a new story evolving "Switchable Graphics"
