I tried researching this before asking but I'm kind of lost, so please don't bash me for not getting this like most people.

What is Mobility modder? I tried reading about it at http://www.hardwareheaven.com/modtool.php , but I'm kind of lost, is this what most people are using to install the latest ATI drivers?

Do I need to install it first to make the new 9.12 Full Catalyst Software Suite work? or do I go right ahead and install 9.12?

and is 9.12 Full Catalyst Software Suite what I need? as in, does it have the most optimal driver for the ATI Mobility Radeon 4670?

and one thing out of topic, does anyone know how to check which screen you have? just want to make sure I have the RGBLED and not the WLED, read some people got the wrong one and couldn't tell (since they're both 1920x1080).

Thanks, and the help is much appreciated.

First off, if you try to install without modding, you won't be able to install the graphic driver. (You can try it by choosing custom during installation and not see graphic driver being installed).

After you use the mod tool, you try again with custom installation and you see the difference.

Yeah, you have the right link. I did this for the first time myself a couple weeks ago, and I was confused at first too. 9.12 (or whatever the most updated version of Catalyst is at the moment) will work just fine.

Don't install it first - simply extract the files and stop there, just like the instructions say. You then use the modding tool provided on the site to modify the files you extracted. At that point, you can run it like a normal installer.

Modding the 9.12 suite (which is the 8.681 drivers IIRC) fixed a lot of problems for me. No issues using it yet either. Hope that helps.

I am using the modded 9.12 drivers as well and they've been working superbly!
